Did you know Barrington Park owns and manages the two parks within the subdivision? While we’re lucky to have two community owned parks to enjoy, both parks – green park and orange park – are in major need of upgrades. A visit to either park will reveal issues like outdated design, broken parts, and age exclusive equipment. Perhaps the worst part is the messy sand and all that accompanies it: summer heat, bees, and weeds.
Fundraising efforts will dictate the finalized plans, but we will create immersive parks fit for all ages. Our goal is to raise funds together and make plans together.
The goal is to completely renovate the parks within Barrington Park. Aligned with thoughts of the HOA Board, we feel the parks are outdated, unexciting, not welcoming for all age groups. Our mission is to involve the entire neighborhood in how best to improve the parks and raise funds together, through individual and/or corporate donations.
Funds raised will dictate the final appearance of the parks. Initial ideas center around the need to remove the sand in favor of something less messy like rubber, artificial turf, concrete paths, or a mixture of all three components. The equipment should include something exciting for all ages, providing a welcoming and engaging space for everyone. Above all, the parks should be different from one-another and different from any nearby parks.
